塑料光纤介质转换器(MC-100-01) 又称塑料光纤收发器、光电转换器、媒体转换器。是一种将双绞线电信号和塑料光纤光信号进行互换的以太网传输媒体转换单元。
MC-100-01 具有一个塑料光纤(POF)接口的上联端口和一个RJ-45接口的下联端口。上联通过POF接口与网络传输介质（双芯塑料光缆）连接，下联通过RJ-45接口与电脑等终端连接，实现双绞线电信号和塑料光纤光信号的相互转换，确保了数据包在两个网络间顺畅传输。
